People’s Postcode Lottery — The Big Spring Win is Back

Interrupting the expected with People’s Postcode Lottery and Channel 4

After big takeovers, famous faces and broadcaster wide activations, our third Channel 4 partnership came with a healthy challenge: how do you keep surprise… surprising? With only a few weeks to make it happen, long standing relationships built on trust, meant we could move fast, stay calm and make smart calls without losing craft.

Instead of trying to go bigger, we decided to go sideways. Channel 4 continuity is familiar, functional, and often fades into the background. So we dragged it firmly into the foreground.

With a £25.7M prize pot on the table, whispering wasn’t an option. Fred Sirieix quite literally interrupted a continuity recording, knocking on doors (including the Channel 4 VO booth) to land one perfectly simple, slightly mischievous question: “Is your door in the draw?”

Directed by Michael O’Kelly, the films leaned into realism and playful spontaneity, blurring the line between scripted content and genuine interruption.

The result? Concept to broadcast in just three weeks, three 20 second ads turned a routine placement into a moment people actually clocked. More attention. More memorability. Proof that when media is creatively re-imagined, it works a lot harder.

all things: built to knock politely… then barge in brilliantly.
