Coke Slim
To launch Coke’s new slim can, all things motion transformed product evolution into a slick piece of moving art.
Building on the “Evolution of the Can” idea, our in-house motion graphics team created a visually addictive animation that reimagined Coke’s packaging history through the eyes of a digital artist.
The film begins with a rough sketch of Coke’s very first can – hand-drawn, rubbed out and redrawn in real time. From analogue pencil lines to polished digital retouching, the artwork evolves decade by decade, morphing through iconic designs from the 1950s through to the 2017 Zero can.
Then, a computer cursor enters the frame, clicks the artwork and instantly transforms it into the bold new 2020 slim can design.
As the animation progresses, the craft becomes increasingly hyper-real, with textures, lighting and reflections building until the final can feels almost touchable.
Designed to stop thumbs and drive shares, the piece celebrated Coke’s new design while showcasing the precision, creativity and craft of our in-house motion team.
